Thrips

Frankliniella occidentalis

Frankliniella occidentalis, commonly known as the western flower thrips, is a pest that affects over 500 plant species, including crops such as tomato, chili, strawberry, and various ornamentals.

This insect feeds on plant tissues, causing silvery spots on leaves and deformities in flowers and fruits. Additionally, it is a vector of tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), which can lead to significant production losses. It is commonly found in warm, dry environments such as greenhouses and open-field crops.

The use of biosolutions helps strengthen the plant’s natural defenses and sustainably reduce the incidence of this pest.
