Damping Off
Pythium sp.
Pythium sp. is a genus of soil-borne oomycete fungi that causes damping off, especially in young seedlings and germinating seeds.
It leads to root and stem base rot, which prevents plants from properly absorbing water and nutrients. As a result, seedlings wilt, collapse, and die suddenly. In many cases, infected seeds fail to germinate at all.
This pathogen thrives in environments with high humidity and waterlogged soils. The use of biosolutions helps improve substrate health and strengthens the plants’ natural defenses, reducing the presence of this disease.
