Damping Off
Fusarium sp.
Fusarium sp. is a genus of soil-borne phytopathogenic fungi widely distributed in the environment, responsible for causing damping off in seedlings and crops during their early development stages.
It infects the roots and stem base, leading to discoloration, necrotic lesions, and rot. Affected seedlings show weak growth, wilting, and in severe cases, may dry out and die. This fungus also persists in the soil as mycelium or spores, making it difficult to control.
Its development is favored in warm soils with poor drainage. The use of biosolutions helps strengthen plants from early stages, improving their resistance against this type of infection.
