Powdery mildew

Leveillula taurica

Leveillula taurica is a fungus that causes powdery mildew, affecting crops such as tomato, chili, and eggplant.

This pathogen invades the leaves through the stomata, developing internally and later emerging as a whitish powder. It causes yellow spots on the upper side of the leaves and, in severe infestations, can lead to leaf drying and drop, directly impacting fruit production and quality.

It occurs most frequently in warm environments with high relative humidity—conditions commonly found in greenhouses and major growing regions.
